#FrameItFriday (week 8, season 3)
Well, here we are....perched on the edge of the weekend and the sun is shining (here in Brantford it is).
I will not sound like a broken record this week (and complain about Winter and such)....instead..... I'm recycling this tender moment shot I took a couple of years back because let's face it....I would rather be paddling amongst them instead of dodging slushy icy cold puddles.
I took this shot on Lake Kashagawigamog (say it 5xs fast). This cute little family was out in the bay by where we were staying. If you're not familiar with the lake, it can get quite busy with boat traffic and such. Surprisingly there are quite a number of loons that make this lake their home as well. It's rather cool how they co-exist (most likely not always friendly neighbours). On this particular evening after days of shadowing them about the bay, we all managed to drift within feet of each other. I was lost in taking photos of them, they were lost in teaching their young one how to fish.
The mum and dad floated with their faces in the water watching Junior swim about below surface to catch his dinner. Junior tried really hard and all he came up with was weeds. Not sure if it was mum or dad, but one of his parents disappeared below the water and came up with a sardine sized snack and gave it to Junior. I suppose to reward him for at least trying to learn how to fish. It was so cute to see mum (or dad) pass the snack to Junior. It was almost as if they wanted me to document it because they could care less at that point that I was there.
I miss paddling about the lake searching for wildlife. This is a mid winter quick fix for me. How about you? What is your favourite thing to do in the summer?
Counting the days....can't wait....hang in there everyone.
