#FrameItFriday (week 6, season 3)

I've done alot of driving this past week, mostly to the same destination.....Algonquin Park. It's quite a hike, even from where I'm coming from. I'm not complaining, I finally had a chance to see my first Pine Marten and Grey Jay. Alas, not one single solitary moose. sniff. I give up on my quest for the elusive Moose. If it wants to meet me, it can do it through the proper channels and message me thru Facebook about a coffee date.

One person I didn't get to meet is Joe the Elk Man. If any of my Bancroft peeps can point me in the right direction to find him and his place, shoot me a message. The well intentioned man who runs the gas station up the road told me about him and gave me "country" directions (right at the last street before the bridge, left at the "T" (which was a "t" not a "T") and Joe's gate is red. I drove for what felt like FOREVER yesterday along the winding dirt and snow covered road and ended up turning around. I didn't see a red gate, bet Joe painted it. I really want to try and find Joe's place, he turns 90 tomorrow and I've heard he likes Jagermeister. I'll bring him some in exchange for seeing his Elk herd. Yes, I bait my subjects sometimes ;)

Mother Nature and snowplows have a subtle way of showing where you "can't" go in the winter. This is my 2nd year up in this area and a number of the access points to adventure and landscapes that are available in the summer are blocked. I've had to do alot of improv. I don't mind a hike but I don't want to end up being the one they send a St.Bernard out to find. Besides, my camera battery lasts about as long as me out there in the bitter cold.

There's huge fluffy snowflakes falling right now, time to go out and grab some scenery shots. Have a great weekend everyone! Peace, Love and Kumbaya, Heather
