#FrameItFriday (week 45, season 2)

#FrameItFriday (week 45, season 2)

Welcome to the 45th Friday of 2019. There's a wee nip in the air around here in spite of the bright sunshine. I'll take the sun, the nip can hit the road though. Not to worry, I'm not going to start predicting the weather on my page... ALTHOUGH, sometimes my weather guesses end up to be more accurate than the actual weather networks....all due respect to those in the weather biz.

Ok, I'm totally off track in many directions today, just like these images I took yesterday at the Canadian Raptor Conservancy in Port Ryerse. Feeling a bit out of sorts and a need to clear my head (yet again) I decided to participate in the drop-in photo session at the conservancy yesterday. It's a real cool place and I've been before and posted images from there. I realized I hadn't been there since I got my newest lens Trixie. I thought I'd test it out and get some shooting practice with her, learn more about raptors and clear the cobwebs in my head.

So these 3 images are of a Harris Hawk (if I get this wrong again I give up lol). Why does it look like it's in an air show? Well, that's because James (handler and conservancy owner) tossed a bit of food up in the air for him to catch. Practice for the raptor, practice for the photographers. I've never actually shot something like this before. It all goes down so quickly except for the very moment the bird has caught the meat, at that point there's a microsecond pause. Much like sports photography it's a far better shot if you catch the player and the ball in the same shot. So let me say it again.....I went to practice shoot. I'm pretty pleased with the results and upon reviewing almost all of the 897 shots I took in 2 hours there yesterday I only have this to say or warn you about......there's going to be a bunch of raptor shots showing up on my page, give y'all a fall break ALTHOUGH I do believe there's a few more fall shots to cram in your eyeballs and then I'll be bringing on the raptor shots.

That's all I gotta say this week except for if you're feeling like your brain is misfiring or in need of a big ole purge. Stop what you're doing, even if it's just for a few minutes, take a deep breath, put on your headphones and crank up some music, meditate, whatever. It won't take away the issue but once your blood pressure has slid back to normal you may be able to think a bit clearer. My brain may not be bigger but it sure takes a lot longer to re-boot but I feel a whole bunch better and focused after doing it.

Peace, love and kumbaya Heather
