#FrameItFriday (week 41, season 3)
Thanks for your patience while I've been dropping hints about some sort of surprise coming from me. So here's the surprise, my family and I are relocating to the quiet countryside just north of Belleville next April (loooong closing, I know). This crazy covid year has given us the opportunity to reflect and re-evaluate what's important in our lives. Most important: family first and combine that with a certain someone is retiring at the end of this year. The first photo is of our new house (built in 1878) and the second photo is of the bunkie which I plan to use as my studio (also guest cabin that is almost fully booked for next summer already, lol). Isn't she pretty eh? It's on just under 3 acres and the lawn boy is currently looking for a riding lawn mower. It also has a really trippy looking garage (not shown) but screams ideas to me for photo shoots. There's even a chicken coop but who are we kidding here, I could barely grow tomatoes this year. How on earth would I manage to keep chickens alive? A girl could learn though. A pond lies beyond the house that a Heron statue stands guard over. It's been said that every mating season at least one poor-sighted male flies in for a peck only to leave disappointed and unfulfilled. Rumour has it a Wood Duck couple nest each year in it as well. To my birder friends, imagine not having to chase down "Wood Duck" sightings off eBird but just wander on down to the pond out back with the camera and a coffee and spy on them. Throw in 1,000s of new to me backroads to explore and I am in my glory! April is pretty far off but we have sold our home in Brantford now and will be in need of a place to rent from December 1st to the end of April. Our furniture, etc will all be going into storage so we'll be looking for a furnished place to rent that will allow a certain #StellaCat to stay as well. Anybody have something like that? Shoot me a message. I have spent close to 15 years here in Brantford and I am grateful for all the opportunities I've had, the wonderful people I've met and formed fabulous friendships with. That is the toughest part, but thanks to social media we will still be able to keep in contact. So in the weeks to come, asides from purging, packing, securing a mover, storage place, place to live etc I shall endeavour to keep my daily #ChickPicotheDay going and get out to shoot more inventory. I will also get my act together to get a calendar out as well. I better giddy up, put the pedal to the metal BUT FIRST......Thanksgiving with my tiny family bubble! We can't all gather together like we used to but hey, how about a good old Thanksgiving dinner via zoom? Whatever you do, be safe and have a safe and happy thanksgiving!
Peace, love and kumbaya, Heather
