#FrameItFriday (week 41, season 2)

#FrameItFriday (week 41, season 2)

Well, here we are (my Canadian friends) on the brink of the final long weekend of the year. Also, if you've "kids" away at school, perhaps they will make a pilgrimage home for the first time since you moved them and all of their Ikea purchased furniture off to uni in September. Quite possibly they'll return with a new appreciation for home and all it has to offer.

Back in the day when I was a kid my family and I would hop in the car and make our Thanksgiving pilgrimage to Bass Lake just outside of Orillia. That was when all the cousins were young, before they had spouse, kids of their own, etc. etc.

Fast forward to today, my kids are adults now and I let them know that turkey is being cooked, the stuffing I make that they all like will be on the table and there'll be cherry cheesecake for dessert for whenever they can make it over. Any time this weekend. I can't wait to spend some time with them.

This photo I've posted here was almost not taken. Had I had my eyes on the road in the instance I passed this lovely lane, it would not be here in digital format. Wait, that didn't sound quite right, that sounded like I wasn't watching where I was going, distracted driver and such. Ok, the lane flashed out of the corner of my eye. I slowed down and safely hung a u-turn to return to it. That sounds a bit better.

This lane reminds me of pretty much every Thanksgiving I've ever had. It reminds me of family gathered together, assembled at the end of a path something like this one, about to embark on a fall walk. To kick the leaves, to smell the fresh air, to laugh and carry-on and work off that incredible meal we all just inhaled. There's just one thing missing for us, for the first time ever....our Little Betty Boop will not be joining us. This makes me a bit sad but at the same time thankful that we have wonderful memories with her in the Thanksgivings of the past......that and her amazing cheesecake.

Whatever y'all get up to this weekend, enjoy and be thankful.Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours! Peace, love and kumbaya, Heather
