#FrameItFriday (week 39, season 2)

#FrameItFriday (week 39, season 2)

This week was amazing. Every so often I find myself at a crossroad for ideas to create new and exciting images, improve my skills, work on my business, etc. This week could not have come at a more perfect time.

Why is that you may ask? Well, not only did I have the opportunity of a lifetime shooting THE Dr. Jane Goodall (if by chance you've been living under a rock, google this gal) I also got to become inspired by not only her presence but her words during her lecture at my favourite venue the Sanderson Centre. 84 years young and on the road 300 days a year! I hope be able to make it to the bathroom at 84 (if I live that long) let alone get out and hop on a plane.

That's not all....earlier this week I attended another lecture by the talented Dave Sandford of Sandford Photography. He's a local (London, Ontario) Canadian who rose to fame with his fabulous Liquid Mountain series on Lake Erie. An NHL photographer for 22 years, who also now puts on a wetsuit in November and immerses himself in the rough rough waters of Lake Erie with a camera and taking stellar shots. Scuba diving and shooting sea turtles and sharks off the coast of Australia. Bundling up and taking shots of icebergs and polar bears in Arctic circle. Dave is currently on his way to the warm waters of Tonga to shoot Hammerhead sharks and Great White Sharks. Incredible!

Hearing their stories, watching their videos, viewing their images one cannot help but get ideas on how to improve our own work, give me ideas (although not worldwide, just in my own backyard so to speak) and try to bring awareness, shed light, spread joy to my own circle of friends and family.

I was also privileged this week to get invited and go on a tour of a wonderful little place called Cranberry Creek Gardens down the road from me. A place I was able to roam about and take candid shots at my leisure. Working off the high of attending Dave's event and the excitement of meeting Jane Goodall in person. You'll be seeing the odd shots from my visit there over the next week. Further down the road you will be able to see this place live on the big screen in a movie by Steven King!

I'm a lucky gal, I truly am and extremely grateful to be able to do what I do. Sometimes I need to just stop, put down the camera and listen to the universe and get that message.

I've pushed back my shoots for Fall family shots to the latter half of October (hope the leaves are in "full bloom"). That latter half is filling up pretty good so if you're thinking of shots, pm me asap to get you in on the limited times I have available. I will be spending the first half of next month exploring and capturing the glorious fall season up on the backroads and on the lakes of northern Ontario around #StudioNorth in a few days time so stay tuned for that. There may also be a bit of turkey consumption during that time period as well. Sorry, I'm not vegan.

Thank you to all of you who follow, comment, like and share my images. Happy weekend.

Peace, love and kumbaya, Heather

P.S.-I'm pretty sure Jane was looking at me when I took this shot (or I'd like to think she was)
