#FrameItFriday (week 37 season 4)

#FrameItFriday (week 37 season 4) Check out the tomatoes! They're actually surviving my care and since I've only ever half-assed tried to grow anything of the vegetable family before I'm a tiny bit proud of myself. I admit I was a lazy farmer only tending to it when the bugs weren't around, it wasn't stinking hot or someone in the house said "there's more ripe tomatoes out in the garden". I've learned a lot about stuff, enough for my wee brain anyhow. At the suggestion of a friend, I've sketched ideas on how to improve on next year's crops. The photo I've posted here today was taken yesterday (Sept.9/21) the basket contents were from my 1 day sweep of the tangled jungle that is called our veggie garden. We actually bought a cute little chest freezer to freeze all of the little ziplock bags from our harvest. In doing that I've given myself some breathing space on "what to do" with all the tomatoes. We're moving into a lot of folks fav "my kind of weather" season finally. I minded less about dragging out my big lens and walking about with it. I've watched our pond go from full to down to a puddle and now back up to almost full again. It's been kind of cool to see how much wildlife occupies that "puddle". So far we've found 2 turtles, tons of bullfrogs, frogs, toads, snakes, a muskrat and last but not least, everyone's fav.....the leech. During our walks this past week we've noticed that the turtle eggs have been hatching. I'm not sure if this is the time of year they usually hatch or if they're running late but this past week we've come across at least 3 or 4 tiny snappers that failed to successfully cross the road to the water. If you're out on the backroads, be wary that the dark polka dots on the road, they could be baby turtles trying to make it to the big old pond to begin their lives. Another week rushes by us, I've snapped a few photos for you all, been trying to wrassle up some business (hint, hint), voted and I bought a doll that I'd been after that I had as a child. Yes, that's right, I bought a doll this week. Am I regressing? Did I put a tiny doll in one of my socks to keep her warm while I washed her little dress? I did indeed. I'm blaming it all on this country air. TIme to go, I just heard another tomato ripen. Stay safe!
Peace, love and kumbaya, Heather
