#FrameItFriday (week 32, season 2)
Hey, how's it going? Why is it when we head out for a bit, natural disasters occur back home? I'm referring to flash flooding in both Toronto and Brantford. I hope you weren't effected by it or if you were, you made it through it unscathed.
This week so far for me has been just what I needed. In a way, it's kind of like going back to school but without a teacher breathing down your back or a parent asking how your marks are.
The simplicity of having the time to walk or paddle around at a leisurely pace and shooting this and that. It's sort of what I do daily but without pressure. I'm not sure if that makes any sense or not. Put it this way, it's kind of like taking your eyes to the spa and getting the full luxurious package. You come home with a whole new way of looking at things.
Two, maybe three things that I haven't been doing lately or at all are night shooting, sunrises and hummingbirds. With night and sunset shots it's usually because it's past my bedtime lol and hummingbirds.....well I'm not set up for feeding them at home, so no shots.
We've just found out that hummingbirds flit about in the little garden out front of the porch. Thank god because I have my fill of cute little chipmunk shots. I hope to capture a shot or two of a hummingbird (fingers crossed).
I managed to get my butt out of bed in the middle of the night and step outside to take some night shots....they will take some practice for sure. The one I've posted here was about the best from the other night. It's nerve racking because it's PITCH dark except for the twinkling stars but the sounds that come from the woods scare the crap out of me. I'm SUCH a big chicken.
Also, for the love of god Loons, where ARE you??? Last year they were couples in every bay, this year....we've seen 3 total and no Mergansers! What is up with that?
We're nearing the end of our stay here and family is joining us for a long overdue reunion. I'm looking forward to spending time with my kids as I've missed them dearly.
I hope you get opportunities to re-charge your batteries, mental health break, spiritual break, even if it's just for an hour, savour every second. It feels sooooo good!
Peace, love and kumbaya kids
Heather
