Frame It Friday (week 3, season 2)

#FrameItFriday (week 3, season 2)

I call shots like this one a "Titanic" shot.....not because it sunk or anything like that. You know the scene in the movie where the camera goes from black and white and waterlogged to colour and vibrant and alive. Know what I'm talking about, at the beginning of the movie? Anyhow, what I mean to say is....sometimes I get the shot in camera the way I want it, sometimes I don't because I want to "pimp it up" in post with some special effects, transform it the way my imagination sees it. I wasn't always a fan of HDR and special effects (most likely because I had no idea how to create them a few years back). I kind of sort of know how to now, in a rudimentary way in photoshop. Some folks still do not like those effects but it's art.....subjective. So back to THIS shot. The house is not abandoned, it's very much occupied and a going concern, it's been lovingly maintained and looks amazing when you see it in person....I just wanted to tweak it up to look like one of those old Christmas cards you see. The only thing missing is a horse drawn sled and a couple of kids in Victorian garb throwing snowballs at each other on the front lawn. See what I mean about the imagination thing? One more thing.....it's about the "where is this place?" question. I'm afraid I'm not going to be giving out locations to people anymore. I have in the past but it's not a good idea. A couple of my regular drive-by spots have become heavily armed and protected since last I was there. I'm not sure if it was because of me and my posts but I don't want to be the cause of some turd finding out where it is and trespassing and ruining stuff for the rest of us roadside admirers. Just a thought.......I will take requests for shots, if you see a cool looking place or location, send me a PM and I'll check it out! Now if it's somewhere like Tahiti or BoraBora, you'll have to sponsor me to get over there. I heard it's supposed to warm up in our neck of the woods this weekend, lettuce pray it does.....I am not a fan of the bone-chilling cold. So feel free to share, like, comment. A reminder, I do take headshots, fun shots, events, shows, sell my images (the kind that help me pay my bills) so keep that in mind if you've got something coming up. i.e.: Valentine's Day, St.Patrick's Day, birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day...yada yada yada. Have a great weekend everyone! Cheers! Heather #BrantfordPhotographer #CanonGirl #FollowMe
