#Frame It Friday (week 23, season 2)

#FrameItFriday (week 23, season 2)
Wow, what a week! Personally, I'm glad certain aspects are "over with", sort of.....we will find out over the next four?! years. For those of you not from around here, we've just finished up one of 2 elections, round 2 begins any second now I'm sure. I voted, so I can whine a bit about it but I won't do it on my photo page, I'll whine in my head.
I'm also waiting to hear back about the prognosis on Little Lulu (my lens). I have to say at this particular point in time, I'm disappointed in the lack of communication from the company I took her in to for repairs. They gave me an approximate time for repairs (2 weeks) and said they'd contact me about cost. I waited the week, no word, so I called, got voicemail, left a message and we're on day 2 of waiting for a callback, even a quick email would be nice. Zip, nada, zilch.......I'll wait the full 2 weeks and take it from there. I don't want to rant about it, I just want my lens fixed and back home with me. Customer service...hmmmmm
So you'll notice today, there's a photo of a peacock. This is one of two I saw the other day. They were in a pen and man o man can they shriek! Take the paint off a wall so they will. They weren't doing it often but when they did, plug your ears!
For weeks I've been thinking, all I'd like to do is find a nice pond somewhere, with some swans or ducks floating about in it. I'd like to sit with my camera on a comfy bench and casually take some photos. Of course if a peacock were strolling about in the dream, that would be perfect! Well, I found it! I had to pay admission to get in to see and experience it but there were lots of flowers, birds, ponds, ducks, swans and peacocks. It was nice to be able to walk about, no cars, no traffic and stop and stare at a peony for as long as I wanted to (or until the place closed, whichever comes first).
The Peacocks were enclosed in 2-3 layers of mesh screening mostly to prevent ding dongs like myself from wiggling a finger in expecting touch a peacock. Not exactly easy to take photos through but it was nice that it posed for me.
What does all this mean to you reading this? Well, it means Heather will be posting quite a few photos of flowers in the next couple of weeks, too bad they haven't invented smell-o-vision yet. If you're not a flower lover then maybe you will be if you follow me for the next bit. I may not know all the flower's names but I can tell you the colour lol.
The whole pond, garden, swans, ducks, peacocks, flowers experience took about 3 hours, start to finish and it was just what the doctor ordered. A little bit of mental health therapy, clear the cobwebs, lower the blood pressure, re-boot the creative process. In a bit of rut, spinning your wheels, feeling overwhelmed? Stop, even if it's only for 10 minutes, take a break, take a breather, find your pond with swans (so to speak). It's worth it and if you have to do it over and over again, so be it......but take the time.
While I can remember, random thought here. Slow down on the roads out there right now as there's some newborn fresh out of the nest baby birds taking a bit too long to get off the road because they don't quite understand cars yet and forget "whoops I forgot I can fly now".
I'm excited to have gotten my much needed pond fix so that I can have fun and enjoy shooting some prom, engagement, real estate, festival, anniversary, reunion and a castle this upcoming week. Stay tuned for a few teaser shots.
Have a great weekend folks, have some fun get out and enjoy the fine weather with friends and family. Oh and btw, that pond....here's the link Whistling Gardens, just outside of Waterford. They give you a map to find the bench I speak of and you'll hear the peacocks and be able to track them down....they have all kinds of gorgeous peonies....ok I'll go now...thanks for reading.
Peace, Love, Kumbaya
Heather
