Frame It Friday (week 1, season 2)

#FrameItFriday (week 1, season 2)
I'm switching it up to more of a blog this year, see where that gets me. I'll still take the most popular shot from the previous week and tell you a bit about the shot, a #BTS so to speak. FYI, I'm going to be hashtagging throughout these blogs so if you're not a fan, sorry about that.
You know that week between Christmas and New Years? It's like you're in the #BermudaTriangle or the #TwilightZone or, or...well....you get the #picture (lol). Borderline #CabinFever is what I was getting, so was my husband. We decided to throw caution to wind, put down the remote that activates the #Netflix and hopped in the car. I like these road trips because a) I get to spend time with my man 2) he drives iii) I ride shotgun four) I get to play the roulette navigation game.
As soon as we'd left the house I wished I had brought my sunglasses as it was, well SUNNY out. I persevered and squinted (first world problems). It was bitter cold (not as cold as it is now mind you).
I had it in my mind since we'd seen a #SnowyOwl quite by fluke a few days prior that I wanted to scour the backroads and see some more, this time with Little Lulu my #Tamron 150-600mm lens. The thing is, when you have it in your head you want to find or see one, you never do (at least for me I don't).
Ok, so cut to the chase, back to this shot quite a lot of you liked this past week. I could see we were coming to the crest of the hill and the horizon looking interesting. I told Paul to stop at the top of the hill for me to take a shot. Just as we stopped huge pack (I'm talking 30+) #WildTurkey burst out of the corn field across the road and down into the forest on the other side. I didn't even have time to get out of the car. I just shot through the windshield. If you've ever watched #FieldofDreams it was just like that, when the ball players came out of the corn fields to play. I love surprises or flukes like that, glad we didn't run them over. OH yes...about the sunglasses.....didn't need them really, after this shot the weather turned to a #Snowmaggedon, no sun...just white knuckle whiteouts until we got 20mins from home.
So, there you have it....the exciting story of how I got the shot. I'm a bit wordy and a bit grammerly incorrect but I think you get the gist. As always, all shots posted on this page are mine, taken by me (unless I say, usually taken within the a few days of posting or sometimes when I'm lazy I post older shots). For those of you new to my page, I've been posting #ChickPicotheDay for 2,230 days in a row (since 2011). I'm a bit obsessed. Oh and I'm a first time cat owner going on 3 months now (#StellaCat). Just fair warning, I occasionally post pics of her. I also #Volunshoot for my city’s local monthly paper #BScene.
When I'm not out exploring I earn $$$ to keep the roof over my head, keep my car running and exist by working for folks who need an event covered, headshots, lifestyle shots, pet shots, etc. either in my little home studio or I come to you. I also sell my images in print, canvas, t-shirts, blankets.....so keep that in mind should you wish to hire me.
