#FrameItFriday (week 15 season 3 or day 436? of isolation) Captain's Log Day 436? of isolation:
I may not be taking a lot of photos.
I may not have done that huge purge of the boxes in the basement...yet.
I may have not vacuumed the house this week
Pranced about on the sidewalk whilst wearing a plethora of rubber masks such as a pug mask, a unicorn mask, a zebra mask , a horse mask and last but not least a rooster mask for all of my neighbours to see.
#FrameItFriday (week 10, season 3) Today's tip, don't wait for that perfect time of day when it comes to places such as this one. The photo on the left was taken in December 2019 and the photo on the right was taken just last week (February 2020). Although they've been taken from slightly different angles you can see how much the structure's roof has dropped. I hope it makes it through winter. I won't be able to get back up that way until November of this year, fingers crosse
What an odd week it has been. Lots of snow where we are and for a few days we weren't going anywhere. Blinding snow storms and bitter cold are no fun to shoot in, so I didn't. Instead I read. Been a while since I've picked up a book with lots of words in it. I inhaled books when I was a kid and was a regular at the bookmobile every Thursday. Yes, bookmobile. An RV with books on shelves, if you've never seen or been in one. I learned one thing, my camera batteries do not like
#FrameItFriday (week 8 season 3) So I'm headed away in a few days and I'm looking forward to escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. Also, spend some long overdue Mother/Daughter time. I've selected a few items to take along with me......some folks take a few books, some do crosswords or puzzles to name a few. What do you bring on your holidays? Pictured and numbered are some things in addition to all my camera gear are these items: 1) specially mixed bubbles
2) a miniat
#FrameItFriday (week 6, season 3) Heyyyyyy.....guess who passed her man cold on to her husband? Yup...this gal! Poor guy has been home all week sneezing, coughing, sniffling...he's promised to return the favour to me one day (I can't wait! Actually, I can). I've been laying low as well, still got the entrails of a cough. I did get out for a few explores in my car but have been keeping away from the gen pop as to not spread my germy joy. Cabin fever is rampant around here. Spe
#FrameItFriday (week 52, season 2) Wowzers if you're reading this then we've all made it to the final week of the decade or as some may call it "the Twilight Zone" week. Like all of the memes you've been reading that say "what day is it and what should we be doing between Christmas and New Years?" Or something like that. I know one thing about this past week I've been thinking and telling myself all week long is "that's ENOUGH EATING Heather Louise!" So if you look at the fir
#FrameItFriday (week 51, season 2) I've been up at Studio North this week and I'm not going to lie, the weather and scenery has been absolutely glorious Ok, -26 Celsius is a bit over the top but the winter wonderland is in full bloom right now. If you've seen some of the videos I've posted you'll understand what I'm saying. Let's just say I've done a lot of exploring this past week and have some pretty crazy shots to share with you all in the weeks to follow. I can't recall
#FrameItFriday (week 50, season 2) Not long now before that man in the red suit shows up. I've been in more stores in the past few weeks (even the mall once and I rarely go in there), stood guard at the front door for certain deliveries to show up (stupid porch pirates) and even did a little baking! I can't wait to get together with the family and spend a little time with them. Hang out, have a few bevies, eat food that may not necessarily "be good for us" but "will taste goo
#FrameItFriday (week 49, season 2) Aloha (no, I'm not in Hawaii) but a girl can dream right? Speaking of dreams.....I had the privilege of being introduced to an iconic Canadian photographer of all things Rock and Roll Mr. John Rowlands of www.rocknrowlands.com What a thrill for me. We even had an opportunity to speak briefly at the Burton Cummings show at the Sanderson Centre the other evening. I'd like to thank Mike Tutt for taking this picture of John and I and Steve Burch
#FrameItFriday (week 48, season 2) "Sunny day, sweeping' the clouds away, on my way to where the air is sweet...."
Just out of curiosity, did you just sing those words? Oh, you just figured it out and NOW you're singing those words....that is how the worm gets in the ear...lol Late night, slept in, time is ticking and I've got an annual date with a dear friend to scour the side roads for some red branches and soft fir branches to put out on the porch.
A foursome of us tries
#FrameItFriday (week 46, season 2) I hope you're enjoying my images that I've captured from the Canadian Raptor Conservancy this past week. I know I enjoyed taking over 900 shots there and I've so many images to sort through. I'm not sure how much more of it you'll be able to take. I'll try and just post an album of the rest and give you a reprieve from the feather-geddom. This week has been interrupted by two necessary trips to Toronto and that means no photos unless it's wo
#FrameItFriday (week 42, season 2) How about that Thanksgiving eh? Too much food but always, always, always wonderful to spend time with the family. Here I am again, another week, another story......opportunity knocked last minute and I found myself on the road to our beloved #StudioNorth this past Monday. I just had to make sure I was home by early Wednesday afternoon for work. I went solo in spite of trying to convince a few of my friends to call in sick and join me lol. Ev
#FrameItFriday (week 37, season 2) Friday the 13th. Friday of the Full Moon. Friday of the Brantford International Jazz Festival. TGIF. Fri-yay. ^That is what you write whilst you stall on what you're going to write about. lol. This past week I bought more props. Specifically masks, stupid hot rubber masks. They're cool to wear for a few quick photos...so....who wants to wear one and pose for me? In addition to the zebra head I've already modelled for you I've got a horse hea
#FrameItFriday (week 35, season 2) Before I get into this weeks urgent topic I'd like to celebrate this remarkable woman I had the privilege of photographing this past week. (posted with the family's permission) "Baba" is the matriarch of the family whom I had a photo session with. The family gathered to celebrate Baba's sons 70th birthday. Baba is 101 years old and looks so pretty in her beautiful white sari. Don't you think? I would be so lucky if I made it to that age.....w
#FrameItFriday (week 33, season 2) Firstly.....meet the "Lord of the Lake". That's what I'm calling him, he could be a she but what the heck. If Michael Flatley (Lord of the Dance guy) were a loon, he'd be this one. According to me. So, it's a big lake we're on here. Each year it becomes larger it seems and the paddling is quite the workout (upper body only unfortunately). It's been quite choppy, not ideal for chasing the elusive loons. Don't even bother with them when they'r
#FrameItFriday (week 32, season 2) Well, we did it, we finally got away to our place of solitude #StudioNorth. In spite of the fact that #StellaCat pooped twice, barfed multiple times and drooled like a baby all before we made it out of our neighbourhood! Poor thing but it sure was a quiet 4 hour drive. Now before you have a pity party for the cat she's more than made up for her rocky start and is currently bugging us to build her a catio at home. She's fine and rated her exp
#FrameItFriday (week 29, season 2) This is my client and friend Sue. We've been working together for what she says has been 8 years. I don't think it's been that long but I'll go with it. She's retiring and moving out of town soon and I'm going to miss working with her. I've been posting #SassySayingoftheDay over on her retail page Essentials & Elements Boutique & Aesthetics all that time. We've brought her faithful Facebook followers from a small tight circle of 43 to a heal
#FrameItFriday (week 28, season 2) Just like this bird, that's how I've felt these past few weeks. Headless and in a trance. This past Monday I hit the proverbial "window" and plummeted to the ground below.
I feel better now, not to make all my blog posts about my stages of grief but I thought I'd fill you in a teensy bit, well, because I'm human after all.
GOOD NEWS everyone, I kept the pump organ, I hope to have it home soon earning it's keep in the odd photo shoot (wh
#FrameItFriday (week 27, season 2) "Conundrum" def'n: an intricate and difficult problem. I heard this word earlier this week and it's been stuck in my head ever since. How lucky am I to have had a need to use it today? Lucky? Not sure about that but I sure hope after I've used it here today that becomes unstucketh from mine ear-eth. The past few weeks have been a bit of a blur of paperwork, phone calls, purging 60 years of my mother's memories interspersed with the thrill of
#FrameItFriday (week 21, season 2) I hope you've been enjoying the bird shots this past week, I have more so be prepared. This whole birding thing is quite the experience for me. I thought I'd throw in a shot of a turtle on this week's blog though as I have seen a few en route to the birds. It was also Turtle Day or something yesterday and I totally missed that. As I mentioned last week, the ID'ing thing is a daunting task. In spite of the google, I still mess up what it is.
